Our Story

April 2016

The Weatherskin Corporation grew from an idea. Building custom homes, three friends saw a flaw in the process and asked 2 questions.

“Why are we contaminating these buildings with volatile products that continuously under-perform?” and, “why can’t a waterproof coating be an aesthetically pleasing product, instead of a layer that you need to hide from the weather and the eye?”

November 2016

The team contracted the industry leader in smart-polymer and resin chemistry.

Their company had been formulating special-use coatings for industries such as oil & gas for over 25 years. All the testing and product history proved that these were the right people to bring Weatherskin to life.

February 2017

Weatherskin opened its head office in Calgary Alberta, followed by a service center in the same building.

The products started to roll out for the distribution division and the jobs started to roll in for the service division. Around this time, Weatherskins first licensee came on-board!

September 2017

To build on the product library and services that Weatherskin licensees could offer, a line-up of game changing roofing and flooring products was launched.

With licensees spanning not just Canada but the United States as well, the company focus became educating not only new installers, but the architectural and design communities across the continent. Training seminars, webinars, lunch and learns and custom designed testing became the daily routine for our head office.

May 2018

Weatherskin products got approved by the United States Department of Labor

Due to the perseverance of a driven licensee and head office, Weatherskin products got approved by the United States Department of Labor to be used inside confined space mining operations, as well as on other government projects, structures and institutions.

Summer 2019

Weatherskin wanted to make its buyer’s lives easier, and in 2019, launched a suite of online tools for its Licensees, estimators, wholesalers and preferred contractors.

The library of resources range from cost calculators, a marketing and technical documents hub, training modules, and a platform for placing orders.

2020

Again, the team asked themselves, “how can we set ourselves apart and increase the value of Weatherskin for our prospective buyers?”

Well, offering a job lead tool for advertising sounded like a promising start. As that system was completed, the world was struck by Covid-19. Weatherskin wanted its family of. Licensees, sellers, and installers to be able to continue to work, do jobs and offer the market protection.

2021

focused on building key strategic partnerships within the North American construction industry

Over the next year, Weatherskin will be focused on building key strategic partnerships within the North American construction industry and partnering with other innovative brands to develop green-build systems to pave the way for future projects! By year end, Weatherskin hopes to have international manufacturing, inventory stations and master distributors in new global markets.

Weatherskin was incredibly professional from start to finish and the project was completed on time and to budget.

They demonstrated their professionalism and were true to their word when after a serious down pour we had a slight leak on the roof and Weatherskin were on site within the hour. They then spent the next day locating and resealing the source of the leak.
